We use negotiations, investigations, peaceful direct actions, and innovative campaigning methods to expose the suffering of farmed animals and to help build a world in which no animals are exploited for food.

About the position

In this pivotal role, you will lead and support our dedicated staff in international corporate engagement, financial sector programs, and cage-free corporate engagement and campaigns focused in Chile, Ecuador, and Peru.

This role’s responsibilities include building and refining strategies that drive our programs forward. You will have the opportunity to set ambitious goals and monitor progress, ensuring that our organization remains on track to achieve its mission. You will manage and inspire our international team with your excellent leadership skills and prepare progress and financial reports for the international governance board to ensure transparency and accountability. • Oversee and guide international corporate engagement and shareholder activism initiatives to enhance animal welfare policies from major food companies.
  • Lead the team responsible for the successful implementation of the Banks for Animals program and Sinergia’s participation in the Stop Financing Factory Farming Coalition.
  • Coordinate and approve communications activities and manage team members’ activities related to the three areas mentioned above.
  • Foster a diverse, highly-qualified workforce and volunteer base by providing effective feedback, career coaching, and facilitating personal development opportunities for team members.
  • Establish strategic and long-lasting alliances with other NGOs and key stakeholders.
  • Serve as an excellent spokesperson for the organization, effectively engaging with the media and other key external stakeholders.
  • Ensure that program outcomes and funding relationships are robust enough to meet or exceed strategic goals and objectives.
  • Provide accurate and timely analyses of programs’ effectiveness, media and development results, and performance trends.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills and effectively manage staff to ensure appropriate support of all programs.

Requirements

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Fluent oral and written Spanish and English.
  • Residency in Santiago de Chile or willingness to relocate to this city.
  • Strong motivation to contribute to work that helps animals and/or improves the world.
  • An affinity for animal rights activism and a vegan lifestyle is essential.
  • Proven work experience as a Non-Profit Director or within a similar Senior Management role.
  • Extensive experience in the animal protection movement or in the corporate outreach and/or campaigns area.
  • A proven track record of successful decision-making and problem-solving, using a data-driven and strategic approach to address challenges and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Experience in planning and running fundraising, campaigning, and program-based initiatives.
  • Relevant academic background, training, and/or certifications as a Non-Profit Director.

Enthusiasm and proactiveness are very important to us. If you don’t tick all the points on this list but are very excited about this role, we want to hear from you. Sinergia Animal has an Internal Development Program that can support you in developing skills needed, including language.

Following confirmation of a HPAI outbreak at a Maricopa County facility affecting 2.3 million egg-laying hens, Animal Outlook's investigator travelled to Arizona to record depopulation efforts at Hickman's Eggs in Tonopah. The footage shows piles of dead birds being poured into dump trucks by wheel loaders scooping out huge barns and workers without personal protective equipment covering their eyes, face, and mouth. Animal Outlook's investigation was picked up by Newsweek and press across the state. Thanks to Dr. Crystal Heath of Our Honor for her expert guidance.  Following the investigation, Hickman's, which is the largest egg producer in the Southwest and the 16th largest egg producer in the US overall, announced it was shutting down the vast majority of its operations for two years after admitting that bird flu had impacted six million of the birds in its facilities.  https://animaloutlook.org/investigations/hickmans-eggs-investigation/

Spain sees a reduction of two million caged hens The number of caged hens for egg production in Spain has dropped by two million in the past year, with the percentage in cages falling from 67% in 2023 to 64% in 2024. Since Animal Equality began its advocacy in 2016, nearly 14 million hens have been freed, thanks to commitments from producers and companies, and increasing consumer awareness.
