Hello Fast!
This year, the new aquaculture law will begin to be created, and we have launched several campaigns to raise awareness about marine animals and bring them closer to the public. One of these is our Save the Lobsters (Salvemos a las Langostas) campaign. A major Chilean supermarket (with locations in several Latin American countries) displays lobsters for sale in small aquariums that violate basic animal welfare standards and, furthermore, lack an internal protocol for their sale. In response, we have taken various actions, one of which is to alert the public.
We have created a website to raise awareness about the situation, recently launched a petition for signatures, and as a result of our efforts, the Colegio Médico Veterinario de Chile (Chilean Veterinary Medical Association) has issued a statement supporting the view that invertebrates are sentient beings! This is very encouraging for us, as this is a highly respected professional body in Chile.
We invite you to learn more about our campaign and reach out to us for any feedback you may have. We would be happy to hear from you.
Best regards,
