Project for Awesome (P4A) is a charity video contest running from February 11th to February 19th, 2025. The public can vote on videos supporting various charities, and the ones with the most votes receive donations. Thanks to the support of the EA community, three EA charities, including ProVeg International, received $37,000 each last year.

Please help generate additional donations for effective animal charities again this year with just a few clicks! Voting is open until Wednesday, February 19th at 11:59 AM EST. You can find more information about P4A in this EA Forum post.

On the P4A website, there are numerous videos showcasing different charities, including several effective animal charities. Feel free to watch the videos and cast your votes.

Here’s how it works: „Anyone can go to the homepage of projectforawesome.com to see all videos. You can sort by charity category, pick from a dropdown of organization names, or search for a specific video. After you click on a video, look for a big red “VOTE” button either next to or below the video. You’ll have to check an “I’m not a robot” box, too.“

This year, there’s a new rule: „Our voting rule for Project for Awesome 2025 is one vote per charitable organization per device.“ So, you can vote for all the charities you want.

List of videos about effective animal charities

If you can’t find videos of effective animal charities directly, here’s a list:

If we missed a charity, please let us know in the comments!

Every vote is incredibly valuable! In 2024, a total of 72,702 votes were counted, meaning each vote was worth approximately $15 on average. With the extended voting period this year (a full week instead of just a weekend), it’s likely that the total number of votes will increase.

Feel free to share this awesome opportunity with your friends! 🎉

Hello everyone! We wanted to ask for your help with three specific actions regarding the Egg Labeling Bill being discussed in Congress. This month is crucial. Currently, the Egg Labeling Bill in Peru is before the Consumer Rights Committee. This committee will vote on it in the coming weeks, and we expect it to be passed to the full Congress for final approval. 1 - Updated petition https://shorturl.at/lT5WY 2 - Automatic link to email members of Congress whose vote is undecided on the bill https://tinyurl.com/yzm2sw9u 3 - If you use Twitter, this thread is very important because you can tag members.   FIRST: Important update on the Egg Labeling Bill! A new substitute text was presented that responds point by point to the MIDAGRI arguments. Here we explain it easily. @waldemar_cerron @katy_ugarte @rosiotorressali @edgartellom   SECOND: Will the price of eggs go up? FALSE. The PL doesn't require changes in breeding or processing. It only asks for transparency: indicating whether the egg was raised in a cage, shed, or pasture. Furthermore, bulk eggs are excluded. @waldemar_cerron @katy_ugarte @rosiotorressali @edgartellom   THIRD: Does it affect small producers? NO. The PL excludes those with 1,000 hens or fewer. It only applies to medium and large producers. @waldemar_cerron @katy_ugarte @rosiotorressali @edgartellom   FOURTH: Do all animal husbandry methods guarantee animal welfare? NO. Hens in cages are kept immobilized. This system was banned in the EU more than 10 years ago. The PL doesn't prohibit it, it just informs. @waldemar_cerron @katy_ugarte @rosiotorressali @edgartellom   FIFTH: Why is it important? Because information empowers. Consumers have the right to know how what they consume was produced. @waldemar_cerron @katy_ugarte @rosiotorressali @edgartellom   Thank you very much!

* After negotiations with ICAW, the UK retailer Morrisons committed to eliminating eyestalk ablation and implementing pre-slaughter electric stunning for all farmed shrimp in its supply chain by 2027. * We have been actively talking to them for several months and they have been very impressed by our recent campaign against Iceland, including our recent protests in London! Morrisons joins several UK retailers that have already made similar commitments: M&S, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Ocado, and Co-op. A huge thank you to everyone who participated to this win for shrimp !
