Animal Equality - Germany

Protest: New animal protection bill excludes the majority of animals

It is the biggest reform of the Animal Welfare Act in 10 years, but it promises hardly any improvements for the majority of animals. This is because it lacks important measures to protect the 750 million farmed animals living in Germany every year. Animal Equality and Vier Pfoten joined forces to hold a large protest at the Bundestag in Berlin on 28th September to demand stronger laws for farmed animals.

Animal Equality - Italy

Animal Equality celebrates Animal Month

4th September until 4th October marks the second edition of Animal Month, a period in which Animal Equality is dedicated to speak about the lesser-known aspects of animals exploited for human consumption. By drawing attention to their ethological characteristics and bringing to light the stories of rescued animals, Animal Equality will encourage more and more people to understand that every animal, including those exploited for human consumption, has their own identity and the right to live a life that is protected, respected, and free from exploitation.

Animal Equality - India

Animal Equality launches an investigation exposing the cruel and illegal practices in slaughter of animals used by the dairy industry

The investigation conducted in six slaughterhouses in Maharashtra and Kerala exposes how butchers repeatedly slit an animal’s throat, resulting in severe shock. Evidence also revealed other cruel practices including killing being carried out in full view of each animal, repeated bludgeoning of animals with a hammer on the head, and butchers milking the animals one last time before they are slaughtered.
