As of December 2025, nearly a year after launch, we’ve decided to discontinue the FAST Forum.

While we had several plans for the FAST forum and the broader animal advocacy movement to use this space for strategic discussion, we've decided that investing time and resources into growing the forum's engagement while maintaining privacy would not bring equally impactful results.

We think many of these strategic conversations are often more valuable in communities with a wider range of potential allies and like-minded individuals outside our immediate movement, such as the EA Forum or LessWrong, which remain the main spaces for long-form strategic discussions and updates. After testing and tinkering with different tools and outlets, we're not convinced that moving those conversations into our own bubble would be the most beneficial direction for the movement's growth.

We want to take a moment to thank Hive and AVA for the countless hours and conversations about the future of this forum and the strategic directions we could have taken it. Both organizations—along with Vegan Hacktivists—put a lot of thought into how this could become a useful tool for the movement.

For those looking for long-form, thoughtful discussions on animal advocacy, the EA Forum and LessWrong remain the best options. For general movement updates, the FAST List continues strong. For anyone wanting to connect, collaborate, and chat online, nothing beats Hive’s Slack. And for those wanting to meet advocates in person for trainings and community, AVA’s conferences have become a must-attend around the world.

Thank you to everyone who contributed time and energy to the forum. We’re glad we tried, and we should never be afraid to experiment with ambitious ideas for the movement, even when they don’t pan out as hoped.
