Our Planet. Theirs Too. – the non-profit behind the worldwide National Animal Rights Day (NARD) events since 2011 – is seeking experienced Country Coordinators to manage the NARD events around the world.

These events commemorate the billions of animals who lose their lives by human hands each year, while using unconventional means to draw the public’s awareness to humanity’s unconscionable treatment of animals. They also bring the animal rights/vegan communities around the world together, for a day of mourning, but also celebration.

Role Overview:

The NARD Country Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment, supervision and support of the NARD city organizers in their county / a group of neighboring countries, to ensure the smooth and effective execution of the NARD events in those countries. This role requires someone who is able to keep every city on track, within budget, make sure that the organizers are well-prepared and supported, spot and resolve issues before they escalate, and ensure that the events align with NARD’s mission and standards. It demands ownership, responsibility, attention to details, and a ‘never-give-up’ / ‘can-do’ approach, as the NARD Country Coordinator is in charge of the entire NARD operation in their country/countries.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Recruit and Manage Event Organizers

• Recruit and train new event organizers as needed, in existing NARD cities, ensuring they understand and align with NARD’s mission, format and standards.

• Supervise and support all event organizers - existing and new - keeping them on track with their tasks, timelines, budget, and overall progress towards their events.

2. Budget Oversight and Planning

• Develop and manage country budgets with a clear focus on maximizing efficiency while minimizing costs.

• Dispense funds to cities, track their expenses, and ensure event organizers adhere strictly to allocated funds.

• “Close the books” for each country after the events, and make sure any remaining NARD funds are returned to NARD headquarters.

3. Daily Operations Management

• Act as the central contact for all city-related needs, guiding their organizers through logistical issues, permit issues, budgetary issues, and other issues on the ground.

• Address problems that cannot be solved by the city organizers, and step in if necessary to help resolve them.

• Keep track of the cities’ progress, and make sure their events are progressing smoothly until completion.

• Make sure all the events are wrapped up properly, including the return of funds, delivery of photos and videos, shipment of Declaration of Animal Rights signatures, etc.

4. Event Quality and Consistency

• Ensure the events in each country follow NARD’s unified format, and adhere to its standards for quality, messaging, and Impact.

• Conduct post-event evaluations to identify areas for improvement and suggest action items for future events.

5. Communication and Accountability

• Act as the point person for all country-related matters in communication with the NARD  Program Manager, delivering updates on progress and solutions for challenges.

• Maintain timely communication with all event organizers in each country, providing them with feedback, resources, and ongoing guidance.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in grassroots organizing / project management, preferably with oversight across multiple locations or regions.

• Experience with organizing NARD events, and dedication to NARD’s mission and success.

• High level of ownership (“big head thinking”) and ability to operate independently without need for constant oversight.

• High level of integrity, attention to details and accountability.

• Ability to function well under pressure, deadlines, and multiple tasks, and great problem-solving skills, with a ‘never-give-up’ / ‘can-do’ attitude.

• Excellent budgeting and financial management skills.

• Strong communication and people skills.

This role is about making sure NARD gets done, and done well, in your country/countries.  If you’re ready to supervise and produce powerful NARD events for us in your country/countries, we’d like to talk to you!
