Our Planet. Theirs Too. – the non-profit behind the worldwide National Animal Rights Day (NARD) events since 2011 – is seeking an experienced US/Canada-based project manager, to manage the NARD operations around the world.

These events commemorate the billions of animals who lose their lives by human hands each year, while using unconventional means to draw the public’s awareness to humanity’s unconscionable treatment of animals. They also bring the animal rights/vegan communities around the world together, for a day of mourning, but also celebration.

Role Overview:

The Project Manager for NARD is responsible for the recruitment, supervision and support of our NARD organizers in multiple countries around the world, to ensure the smooth and effective execution of this annual global event (with the next NARD event scheduled for Sunday June 1, 2025). The Project Manager is in charge of recruiting and managing country coordinators, supporting them with creating budgets and enforcing them, and helping them handle the day-to-day operations of all their NARD events, while ensuring the implementation and adherence to our community standards. This role requires someone who is able to keep every country on track, make sure that our organizers are well-prepared and supported, spot and resolve issues before they escalate, and ensure that every detail aligns with NARD’s mission. It demands ownership, initiative and a hands-on approach, as the NARD Project Manager is in charge of this entire global operation, making sure it is executed optimally and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Recruit and Manage Country Organizers

• Recruit and train new Country Coordinators, ensuring they understand and align with   NARD’s mission and standards.

• Supervise and support all Country Coordinators - existing and new - holding them accountable for their tasks, timelines, and outcomes.

2. Budget Oversight and Planning

• Develop and manage country budgets with a clear focus on maximizing impact while minimizing costs.

• Track country expenses and ensure Coordinators adhere strictly to allocated budgets.

3. Daily Operations Management

• Act as the central contact for all country-related needs, guiding their Coordinators through logistical issues, budgetary issues, and others issues on the ground.

• Keep track of the countries’ progress, and make sure their events are progressing smoothly until completion.

4. Event Quality and Consistency

• Ensure the events in each country meet NARD’s standards for quality, messaging, and impact.

• Conduct post-event evaluations to identify areas for improvement and set action items for future events.

5. Communication and Accountability

• Act as the primary liaison between the Country Coordinators and the OPTT leadership, delivering updates on progress and solutions for challenges.

• Provide Country Coordinators with feedback, resources, and ongoing guidance, maintaining timely communications.

Requirements:

• Based in the US or Canada (ideally in the PST time zone), but with an ability to work across other time zones, including Europe, Asia and Australia.

• Proven experience in event management / grassroots organizing, preferably with oversight across multiple locations, regions or countries.

• Dedication to NARD’s mission and an understanding of the urgency in delivering high-impact results.

• High level of ownership (“big head thinking”) and ability to operate independently without need for constant oversight.

• Ability to function well under pressure, deadlines, and multiple tasks.

• High level of integrity, attention to details and accountability.

• Excellent budgeting and financial management skills.

• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

• Great people skills.

• ‘Never give up’ attitude.

This role is about making sure things get done, and get done right, on a global scale. If you’re ready to be fully accountable for executing a powerful National Animal Rights Day worldwide, we’d like to meet you.

• Location: remote, within the US or Canada

• Type of contract: Independent Contractor

• Hours: equivalent of full-time hours

• Pay: USD $60,000 per annum

• Start date: immediately
